[X]ceptional: Terms and Conditions

Parameters

1.1  The competition will be open from 4 October 2021 and will close on 12 November 2021 at 17.00 (UK time).

1.2  Only students taking at least one course in the College of Social Sciences, University of Glasgow, may enter.

1.3  The competition is free to enter.

Entry​

2.1  Students can only enter the competition once.

2.2  Students can enter using the Microsoft Form located at www.talkaboutx.net/xceptional.

2.3  All information asked for on the form must be provided in ordered for the submission to be successfully entered.

2.4  All entrants will be asked to indicate whether they are happy for their submission to be shared on social media during the competition.

2.5  Shortlisted entries will be asked to complete a GDPR form so their entry can be publicised on www.talkaboutx.net, the University website, and social media.

Prizes​

3.1  Winners will be decided on, or after, Wed 24 November.

3.2  Four x First prize winners of £500 will be provided by the COP26 Challenge. The winners will be announced publicly on www.talkaboutx.net, on the University website, and through University communication channels addressed to both staff and students. Winners will each receive a cheque sent by special delivery to the address provided at the point of notification of the competition result.

3.3  Five x Runners-up prizes of £200 will be provided by the COP26 Challenge. The runners-up will be announced publicly on www.talkaboutx.net, on the University website, and through University communication channels addressed to both staff and students. Winners will each receive a cheque sent by special delivery to the address provided at the point of notification of the competition result.

Judging​

4.1  Judging will take the form of comparison against the established criteria.

4.2  Judges will be asked to declare any conflict of interest, and will not be allowed to enter the competition themselves.

4.3  Judging of the competition will take place in two stages:

           (i) After the closure of the competition, the [X] team at the University of Glasgow will compile a shortlist using anonymous submissions (where possible; exceptions may include videos that include identifying details of applicants) and ranked using the published criteria.

           (ii) The broader multidisciplinary team within LEADS for Students will then meet to decide on winners and runners-up from the shortlist.

4.4  The result of the competition is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
